This guide provides a step-by-step procedure for performing an ECG test using Cardioline TouchECG with LEMR integration to Zedmed Clinical. The TouchECG software is compatible with Cardioline TouchECG Bluetooth ECG devices.
The instructions below are designed for LEMR version 2023.10.9.1642 and later. If instructions for earlier versions are required, please contact LEMR Support.
1. Open the patient’s file in Zedmed Clinical.
2. Make sure your ECG device is turned on and ready to connect to your computer by pressing the orange button on the device once.
The TouchECG device light will blink blue or orange when it is turned on; usually a stable blue when a test is in progress.
3. Click on the LEMR icon with the patient's name next to it.
4. Click on ECG.
5. Choose a specific LEMR Client computer to start the test on.
6. While the test is in progress, a window will be displayed over Zedmed. LEMR Client will pop up over the top.
7. LEMR Client will pop up asking to start a test – select TouchECG to start the test.
Note: If LEMR Client does not appear, click on the LEMR Client icon at the bottom of the screen or open LEMR Client from the desktop icon.
Then click on Sync Now at the lower left side of the LEMR Client window.
8. The Cardioline TouchECG software will now open. If the ECG device is properly connected to the computer, live data will appear on the screen from the device.
If the TouchECG device is turned on, it may take up to 30 seconds for the bluetooth device to be located. If it is not already on, turn the device on now.
The TouchECG device light will turn solid blue when it is connected to the computer and a test is in progress in the TouchECG software.
If this fails or you see an ECG appear with the word “Demo” on the ECG capture window, please contact LEMR Support for assistance.
ECG trace data will be shown on the graph once the 4 limb electrodes and at least 1 chest electrode are successfully connected to the patient.
9. Connect all patient electrode leads until you receive a good quality ECG trace, then wait until at least 10 seconds of good ECG trace data has been received
Note: TouchECG will automatically save the results if all of the electrodes are connected.
10. If the ECG looks acceptable on screen, click the power off button to close the TouchECG software and complete the test.
Note: If you are not happy with the quality of the trace, before clicking on the power off button from the previous step, click the trash can button.
Doing this will re-perform the test on the same patient. The ECG will start capturing ECG data again.
When you are ready to capture the previous 10 seconds of ECG trace again, click on the auto button.
Now if the ECG looks acceptable on screen, click the power off button to close the TouchECG software and complete the test.
Only the latest ECG test will be saved; the poor quality trace before this one will be discarded.
11. When the LEMR Client window pops up, the test should be made ready for Zedmed to collect - the test icon will go from an uploading icon to a circled tick.
12. LEMR Server will detect the finished test and automatically import it into Zedmed Clinical. The imported test will be stored in Images/ECG. Click OK.
