This guide provides a step-by-step procedure for performing an ECG test using the Welch Allyn CardioPerfect ECG with LEMR integration to Best Practice (Bp Premier). The Welch Allyn CPWS ECG software is compatible with Welch Allyn CardioPerfect SE Pro 600 Resting ECG devices.
The instructions below are designed for LEMR version 2023.10.9.1642 and later. If instructions for earlier versions are required, please contact LEMR Support.
1. Open the patient’s file in Best Practice (Bp Premier).
2. Make sure your ECG device is plugged in to your computer.
3. Make sure the patient’s height and weight information is up to date.
4. Go to the Utilities menu and select Electrocardiogram.
5. Choose a specific LEMR Client computer to start the test on.
6. While the test is in progress, a window will be displayed over Best Practice. LEMR Client will pop up over the top.
7. LEMR Client will pop up asking to start a test – select CardioPerfect to start the test.
Note: it is recommended to connect all patient electrode leads to your patient before starting the test.
Note: If LEMR Client does not appear, click on the LEMR Client icon at the bottom of the screen or open LEMR Client from the desktop icon.
Then click on Sync Now at the lower left side of the LEMR Client window.
8. The CardioPerfect software will now open - when the New ECG window appears, click OK.
9. If the ECG device is properly connected, live data will appear on the screen from the device.
Ensure all patient electrode leads are properly connected so you receive a good quality trace.
When you are ready, click on the Record button to begin capture of the 10 second resting ECG.
10. The ECG review window will now appear. If the ECG looks acceptable on screen, close CardioPerfect with the X at the top right of the window.
11. When the LEMR Client window pops up, the test should be made ready for Best Practice to collect - the test icon will go from an uploading icon to a circled tick.
12. LEMR Server will detect the finished test and automatically import it into Best Practice. The imported test will be stored in Clinical Images. Click OK.
