We are often asked about where medical devices can be sent to be validated/certified. This is often labelled “calibration”, though most modern medical devices do not need to be “calibrated” anymore; most have fixed functions and solid state components that do not allow for calibration and memory of adjustments, though it is still very important to validate the results from these devices to ensure they are providing accurate measurements.
The following providers are known to perform testing of medical devices in Australia and to maintain practice accreditation, comply with RACGP Guidelines and comply with current Australian Standards for medical equipment (AS 3551). These organisations may also provide medical device repair and maintenance services, so it is a good idea to check directly with them to see what services they can provide for your device.
