Ambu Blue Sensor M, Ambu Bluesensor Supertab and SURGI+Sense electrodes are examples of easy to use hoop style electrodes that work with many ECG devices using a 3-4mm banana plug. Hoop style electrodes can have the pin put straight into the hoop on top of the electrode, meaning that no ECG clip is required in between.
With the hoop style electrodes, if the ECG pin is pushed through too far, they may not make proper contact with the banana plug, resulting in issues with your ECG trace. As per usual, the limb electrodes are the most important; all four MUST make proper contact right through from the ECG device to the patient or you may get no trace at all from the patient. To avoid this issue, ensure that the hoop of the electrode is positioned on the bulgy part of the banana plug just like in the image below.
