Warning Message
When installing Cardio Perfect (CardioPerfect) Workstation (CPWS) v1.6.8 on a Windows 11 PC that is up to date, the following warning message may appear on the screen at the stage where the Microsoft SQL instance is installed:

Solution
Install a newer version of Microsoft SQL Server in place of the older version included with Cardio Perfect Workstation. The following steps will guide you through the process:
1. Download and run Microsoft® SQL Server® 2019 Express (SQL2019-SSEI-Expr.exe) from https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=866658
2. Choose Custom
3. Choose a temporary location to unpack the SQL 2019 Express install media then click Install
4. A new window will appear; click on New SQL Server Stand-alone Installation
5. Tick I accept the license terms and Privacy Statement and click Next
6. Tick Use Microsoft Update to check for updates (recommended) then click Next
7. Once the Install Rules have passed, click Next; if there are any failed rules, this will need to be resolved before installation can be completed
8. Ensure that Database Engine Services is ticked, the remainder of items in the Instance Features section are unticked, leaving all items untouched in the Shared Features section as they are, then click Next
9. Click the dot next to Named instance and enter CARDIOPERFECT
Then click Next
10. On the Server Configuration window click Next
11. On the Database Engine Configuration window, click the dot next to Mixed Mode, then enter the sa password you wish to use for the instance in both fields, then click Next
Use the following password for sa (unless you wish to use your own; don't lose the password as you will need it later!):

The installation will then proceed:
12. Once the installation is completed, click the Close button
13. Now close the SQL Server Installation Center window with the X
14. Open the extracted setup files for Cardio Perfect Workstation and browse to the SQL folder, then run dbbuilder.exe
e.g. CPWS 1.6.8\sql\dbbuilder.exe
If prompted for the SQL login information, use the username of “sa” (without the quotes) and the password set up in step 11
15. Then ensure the correct SQL instance is correct (PC_NAME\CARDIOPERFECT) then click on Create / Update!
16. Once complete, then you can re-run the Cardio Perfect Workstation installation which will install the program to your computer
Now everything should work as expected!
