TeamViewer QuickSupport is an application that runs only when needed. It is not installed on your computer and doesn’t require administrator-level access though we may request that you run this tool with administrative access in order to install LEMR components or device software, or provide support to you. Information about running the Team Viewer Quick Support app with elevated User Account Control (UAC) privileges can be found in this article too.
How to run Team Viewer Quick Support
1. Click on the Team Viewer Quick Support button on the left side of this wiki
3. If you don't need to run Team Viewer Quick Support app as Administrator, you can now run the downloaded Team Viewer Quick Support app
The file, once downloaded, will appear differently in various browsers.
Google Chrome After the file has downloaded, click the downloads button at the top right side of the Google Chrome window then click on TeamViewerQS.exe
Google Chrome - Click the Downloads button then click on TeamViewerQS.exe
Firefox After the file has downloaded, click the downloads button at the top right side of the Firefox window then click on TeamViewerQS.exe
Microsoft Edge After the file has downloaded, click the downloads button at the top right side of the Firefox window then click on TeamViewerQS.exe If the downloads button disappears, click on the three dots button below the maximise button then click on Downloads from the menu.
Important note: some older web browsers may show the download in different places on the screen. Our support technicians will help you locate this.
IMPORTANT: You may receive a prompt that another instance of Team Viewer is running. Your LEMR support tecnnician will give you guidance on what to do if this occurs.
4. If prompted, tick I accept the EUL and the DPA then click Continue
5. Wait for the Team Viewer Quick Support session to be ready - a sesion code and Ready to connect will appear in the app
6. When the LEMR support technician has connected to the session, the following window will pop up - click Allow
¶ How to run Team Viewer Quick Support as Administrator
If instructed by LEMR Support, you may need to attempt to run the Team Viewer Quick Support app as Administrator (elevated User Account Control - UAC - privileges). To acheive this, please follow the steps below.
This is our secondary, third party remote connection tool. Windows Quick Assist is an application that runs only when needed and is built-in to most Windows operating systems. This tool doesn’t require administrator-level access.
1. Click the Windows Quick Assist button on the left side of this wiki
2. If prompted, click on Open Quick Assist (Google Chrome) or Open Link (Firefox) or Open (Microsoft Edge)
3. Enter the security code provided to you by your LEMR support technician and follow the prompts
