One possible cause of Vyaire/Carefusion Spirometry test imports failing to LEMR is due to the date seperation character used in SPCS settings.
1. Open Vyaire/Carefusion SPCS software
2. Open Settings
3. Check the following settings; the seperator option should be set to /
Symptom:
The security dongle and the Spirometer are both connected to the computer though a test will not start as the device can't be found. Upon checking the device manager, a device named Vyaire Medical Spiro USB exists with a warning symbol on it (!) as per the screenshot below:
When viewing the properties for the Vyaire Medical Spiro USB device, you will see the following message:
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
Solution:
Right click on this device in the device manager and click Uninstall. Then tick the box to attempt to remove driver files for the device and proceed. Once completed, install the drivers from the following driver package:
/carefusion/20210520_vyaire_carefusion_spiro_driver_-_use_this_to_solve_unsigned_driver_issue.zip
On a Windows 11 PC, if you see the Vyaire/Carefusion device driver listed in Device Manager with an exclaimation mark next to it, right click on it and choose Properties. Review the text in the Device status panel for the information below:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
{Bad Image}
%hs is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0x
This issue can be solved, though it does reduce the computer's resistance to malware and other memory misuse. To make the Spiro driver work again in this scenario, you will need to turn off Memory Integrity.
1. Open Windows Security from the Start Menu
2. Click on Device Security, and then click on Core isolation details
3. Turn off the toggle for Memory integrity
4. Restart your computer to apply the changes
