The USB connector that goes into the Medikro Primo spirometer can be tight fitting and has been known to cause connectivity issues with this spirometer. It is the most common cause of the device not being found by the computer in our experience. The Medikro Pro device is usually less of an issue, though the cable must be inserted the correct way to prevent damage to the device and cable.
Please follow these steps to troubleshoot the USB connectivity issue with your Medikro device.
Is the green light on the device lit up?
If not, check the USB connection on the other side of the device from the green light.
Ensure that the USB cable is in around the right way - it only works one way around and if forced in the wrong way can cause damage!
When you are sure that the cable is aligned properly, push the USB plug into the socket of the Medikro Primo device.
Once it is in a little way, give it a firm push in so it is a snug fit in the socket. This can be tight, especially when new.
The two small holes on top of the USB plug should be close to the housing of the sprirometer as per the image below.
The image below shows how it should look when properly connected.
Now ensure that the other end of the USB cable is plugged in to your computer.
The green light on the Medikro Primo device should be lit up in green and you should be good to go!
There have been rare cases where the green light on the Medikro Primo or Pro device is lit up though the USB plug into the Medikro device is still not quite fully in the socket. Follow the steps above for plugging the cable into the device.
